Spirited Away Picspam
For the current picspammy challenge: a little spam of my favourite scene from Spirited Away. Sen/Chihiro is a girl trapped in the realm of the gods and forced to work in a sorceress' bath house. In order to help her injured friend Haku, she and her companions must take the train across the water. It's a gloriously atmospheric scene with a real sense of loneliness. I love the image of the train going over the water.

Oh, me too. It has such scope. When I finished it for the first time I immediately wanted to rewind and watch it all over again.

I just went and played it on youtube to remind myself...lovely! I like the kind of fusion of Eastern/Western style music that Joe Hisaishi does for Ghibli (here's the man himself playing some other music from the film http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1ni1sVCgEk&feature=PlayList&p=7C355D614B856D30&index=9).

I loooooove Spirited Away. It was on BBC3 the other week. In fact, I love all the Studio Ghibli ones, in particular My Neighbour Totoro and Nausicaä and and and...

Totoro and Nausicaa (and Kiki's Delivery Service) are sitting on my shelf still to be watched! I'm saving them for when I need cheering up!

Nausicaä would probably make you cry if you were already sad. Well, I found it a little sad. Totoro and Kiki are definitely good cheer-up material though!
